I’ve been busy in the studio recently, having fun with my new Deva Angie and my Trapeze. I recently bought some Tibetan lambswool and this stuff is amazing! It looks like real hair :o) I have much more experimenting to do but I have fashioned a wig for the Sybarites out of it.
I’ve also been testing a new pattern draft for the Deva girls and have made up a couple of sheath dresses. There’s so much I want to do I can hardly sit still long enough to type, lol!
Anyway, here is my first lambswool wig….
I used thin strips rather than a one piece cap. Frankly I couldn’t get a one piece cap to fit as well as I wanted no matter how much darting I put in! I love this colour on Trapeze. She looks fabulous a s a brunette!
The mohair is mounted on a hard cap of my own making and is sewn to the cap. Then I washed the wig and gently combed it. I say again, this stuff is amazing! Saran is perfect for certain styles, but this is fabulous too :o)
Doesn’t it look real?
Such a pretty doll!
I just love the way this resin catches and caresses the light. So soft and luminous! I have other colours of lambswool and can’t wait to make more wigs!
Next I worked on some clothing for my new Deva. I have a project in mind for her and this is the first step. Plotting a pattern for her…. Fit is important to me, so I developed a nice little sheath dress fro her. It will be an excellent jumping off point for lots of designs :o)
This is the second sheath I made, the first one is a pretty white cotton floral. This one is a cool silk in browns and taupes. It has accents of metallic copper in it.
Deva Angie is borrowing the chocolate wig. It looks great on her and it’s a terrific colour for her but it doesn’t really fit. Sybarite heads are bigger than Devas, so I’ll have to just make another in her size :o)
Dang she’s a beauty!
Back to the studio with me, there is much to do :o)
Thanks for reading and have a lovely evening!
