A Doll for a Doll ~ooak sculpted tiny~ by awsumgal

I’ve been indulging in the quite small recently. I don’t know why I am so drawn to the very small, but I confess, I am.

I have long wanted to try out some of the clays I see other doll makers use and so I finally overcame inertia and began sculpting a small doll. The idea was to make a fashion doll for my fashion dolls. I liked the thought of my high fashion girls having a high fashion doll of their own.

I was pleasantly surprised at the result ๐Ÿ™‚

She is a strung doll with 10 points of articulation and with a little fiddling, can stand on her own. I have painted on her lingerie and stockings but her double skirt, one layer pink fur, the other layer pale pink tulle, are removeable. She has delicately painted features and a tiny hardcap mohair brunette wig. She is completely sculpted by hand using no molds and so is truly one of a kind. Made entirely of clay, she has been fully body blushed and all of her paint and blushwork is sealed with multiple coats of varnish.

Here she is prepaint. She’s sculpted and strung, but that it. She’s next to a vintage 6 inch Topper Dawn doll.

What are you in for?

The wig was difficult on this small a scale. I may take a different approach next time ๐Ÿ™‚ I think she looks cute bald too, but I can always make her another wig!

Tiny doll, big style ๐Ÿ™‚

Just about four inches tall ๐Ÿ™‚

My lovely basic Devon is enjoying having her around, I think, lol….

Having a little chat ๐Ÿ™‚

I have named this little one Bisou!

I think she’s pretty even without hair!

I think I shall make another as this was so enjoyable! Wish me luck ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for reading and HAPPY CANADA DAY!!!!!!

Sybarite Trapeze Enjoys High Style Casual

Casual doesn’t mean no style sweats. Not for the Sybarites anyway! This outfit for the Sybarites is one that I have been playing around with for months. I’ll work on it a little and then get caught up in something else entirely. Then when I get inspired again, I gravitate back to it. This is where it is now… Trapeze likes it and wanted to do a shoot, so who am I to argue with the mellifluous voice of reason, lol!

Silk ribbon trimmed cotton lace shirt, silk bubble skirt, gold lamรƒยฉ boots, mohair wig and heavy gold jewelry completes her look, and she likes it!

I know it’s amazing, she stands! At least from time to time, lol!ร‚ย  Although I am never out of reach when she stands….

Trapeze is such a beautiful girl!

Well that’s what I do for fun, lol! Hope you enjoyed the look, and the pics :o)

Thanks for reading and have a great day!

New Custom Boots for Sybarite ~Paint!~

Hello doll lovers! Today I finished a custom pair of high heeled, knee high boots for the Sybarite beauties. These boots were a bit of a labour of love, but I have learned quite a bit in their creation. I’m using a new resin formulation for the heels which cures much more reliably. It’s not as brittle either :o)

These boots are a little unusual and special because the fabric that they are made of is a graphic that I created from a work of art, an acrylic abstract landscape by painter Mandy Budan and used with her permission of course!

This vibrant, small scale graphic print was then carefully cut to become a matched set of knee high boots. The boots fasten in back with small scale orange zippers.

The boots are fully lined in white. The heel needed something exciting, so I wrapped the majority of the heel in blue silk fibre. The top of the heel sports hand brick stitched green glass beads.

The sole is topped off (or rather bottomed off, lol) with a light blue leather sole. The end result is stylish and colourful :o)

Wig, jewelry and chair by me, dress is factory (AG I think)ร‚ย  from a lovely doll friend :o)

~Paint!~ have been listed for sale at my Artfire studio. Here is a link….
